Have you been nursing an ailing clutch through the last events of 2021? Perhaps your clutch is juddering because oil has contaminated the friction material or maybe it’s starting to “flare” in higher gears due to natural wear?

While the engine is out, check the condition of the gearbox front oil seal and engine rear seal as they could be part of the problem. Check the condition of the teeth on the starter ring gear and the flywheel’s clamping face for high spots, grooves and burning. The face needs to be perfect for silky smooth gear changes. We always have new flywheels in stock, so think about a replacement as part of the rebuild.
