EU Import Duty Changes

From 1 July 2026, new EU customs rules will change how import duties are applied to goods entering the European Union. If you regularly order parts from outside the EU, these changes could affect costs, delivery times and overall convenience. Here’s everything you need to know, and how to avoid any unnecessary charges.

What are the EU import duty changes in July 2026?

The EU is removing the long-standing €150 “de minimis” threshold, which previously allowed low-value goods to enter the EU without customs duty. From July 1st 2026: all imports into the EU may now be subject to a customs duty, and a temporary €3 flat customs duty will apply to most goods valued at €150 or less.

Will I have to pay more for EU deliveries?

Potentially, yes, especially if your order is shipping from outside the EU. Before July 2026, orders under €150 are exempt from customs duty. From July 2026, orders under €150 will incur a customs duty of at least €3. Larger or mixed orders may attract higher combined charges. These costs may be applied during shipping or on delivery, depending on how the order is processed and the destination.
